It should be waiting for me in a few weeks. This is a new case, new-in-box Mac Pro case, not a G5. I am working on the wiring to adapt the Mac Pro PSU to ATX 2 standard but since I have not seen my PSU and Apple likes changing harnesses I can only guess until I get the case.

Ever wanted to get rid of the scourge of the web that is Adobe Flash, but still retain the ability to view Flash whenever you want? With ClickToFlash, you can! Using ClickToFlash, all of those icky Flash bits that have infected most webpages on the internets are replaced with a nice, smooth gradient and the word “Flash” set in a nice, pleasing font. When you want to view the Flash, just click on it!

The advantages of ClickToFlash are numerous. Since Flash isn’t loaded until you specifically ask for it, your CPU usage will stay at normal levels when browsing the web. This has tons of benefits: web browsing stays speedy, your Mac laptop won’t get as hot, and your Mac’s fan won’t come on as often. In fact, we guarantee* that ClickToFlash will quintuple your battery life and that it will protect those precious parts of your body on which you rest your laptop! (*note: not actually guaranteed)

Although similar to Flashblock for Firefox and Camino, ClickToFlash offers features over and above what Flashblock offers, and it offers them for Safari. Best among them, ClickToFlash supports viewing all those ADORABLE meowing cat videos, annoying dog videos, and hilarious rickrolls from YouTube without using Flash at all! That’s because YouTube also offers H.264 videos, which are used when viewing YouTube on the iPhone. With ClickToFlash, you get access to those same, higher quality videos.

Come join us! The web is so much better without Flash.

Since I’m not trying to write a website up from scratch, or reuse my ancient but clever php site, I thought about a project that I never got around to starting, Enigma. Well, I know I can stand on the shoulders of the German mathematicians that wrote it, but I will not truly understand it’s underpinnings. So I have decided to write a much less complicated yet more secure, One-time Pad or Split-Key.

I am going to try to start and complete this project unlike Enigma. I haven’t written anything in such a long time I think this will be refreshing. But not today

I have decided to start a XOR project. This will ensure a printed OTP can be scanned and processed by Optical Character Recognition software. I’m really trying to think outside of my box though I’m sure hundreds of others have done the same thing.

I will produce 2 or more binary files. The first file will be the cipher and the 2nd onward will be keys. I will delimit the amount of keys so that you can generate a message that no one person can read without the other X keys.

My first message will be the secret of world peace, I will break the message into 193 pieces and send them to the leaders of every country, if they all get together and agree to share the key we will have world peace.

Tools (So I don’t forget):
gmp_xor— Bitwise XOR.
Numbers7 — One-time Pad generator for inspiration.
More — More references.

I came, I saw I built a Hackintosh. This is the story of a OpenSource fan tortured by lack of commercial support. Continue reading →

I decided to start keeping track of my Hackintosh adventures. I currently have an Asus P5K-VM and a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L (rev. 2.x).

The first is my own system, the second I had my father put together then I installed the software side of things. There is a 3rd, the first generation, an E-Machine I found by luck at my local Dumpster*Mart on the way home from work a few years ago; this one was replaced by my fathers current system.

Both of the new systems are low-profile builds with Micro-ATX cases, this limited my choices in motherboards and GPUs.

In 2007 I bought my first MacBook, in 2009 I bought my first Mac Mini. I built these Hack systems for fun, nothing will ever replace my love for the boot sound you only get with a Mac. But for those Intel Core-based windows groupies, you might give it a try, you might find yourself in the Apple Store yourself.

P5K-VM:

10.6.3 Audio Patch: ALC883.sh

DSDT (Intel Q6700 Only): dsdt.aml

IDE Support: JMicronATA.kext

System Management Controller (SMC) Emulator: fakesmc.kext
